It’s really simple, technology is just a way of life. Business is about word of mouth, and customer service. Back in the days, word of mouth used to be a press release or a recommendation on Oprah, or even your co-workers.
Today, the media land scape has changed, and will continue to change. You are more likely to listen to someone from an internet forum rather than your friend. Content, content and content, content is the king of business. Telling your story, and tell it good. How do you think Obama got elected. Being on social media, have interaction with your customers, give useful reviews, creating conversations, and encourage debates. All useful ways to create buzz around your brand. Everybody is cheap now days when it comes to online, what sets you apart should be your brand equity, the fact you are a part of your customers, be friends with them, and know their problems like the back your hand.
Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Tubmlr, all ways to engaging with your customers. So engage! They are not magic formulas, customers will not buy from you just because you are on Facebook. It’s more about what you to do there, comes back to content. Use all of the social media tool as a drawing pen, and the end goal is the mater piece of your brand.
So, be passionate, doing all of the above shouldn’t be classified as work for you. If you treat it as work, Stop! The fact I am writing this at 1 am is not because I haven’t finished my work. I simply love what I do, voicing out my opinion out the the world.
